How to fill out the COT.
When do we need to get a Change of Tenancy filled out?
The Change of Tenancy form is for a client that has just moved into new premises and has not yet informed the supplier that they have moved in.
You will need to fill one of these forms out for each meter or supply into the premises. i.e. if there are 2 gas meters and 1 electricity meter you will need to complete this form 3 times with the meter information on each form.
To complete the form, you must provide all of the following information.
MPAN/MPR
- Often found on the bill.
COT Date
- Date that the client moved into the building
Meter Read
- The reading when the customer moved in.
Outgoing Business Information
- Name of the Business, Customer, Telephone Number and Email Address (If Known) that has vacated the premises.
Incoming Business Information
- Name of the Business, Customer, Telephone Number and Email Address of the client that has moved into the premises.
Signature
- Make sure that the client Signs the document and also provides their Date of Birth.
