Make sure you fill out your full name and your unique ID Number at the top left of the LOA as this will make sure that you are the partner that will earn the commission on this client.
If the client is providing you with an energy invoice you do not need to fill out the MPAN or MPRS information as we can get this from the invoices at a later stage. If the client is not able to provide an invoice, we will need this section completing.
Read to the client what the LOA actually allows us to do and stress the point that the LOA does not allow us to agree a contract without their prior permission. The LOA gives us permission to look into the contract, rates and consumption only.
Some suppliers ask for the LOA to be on the clients Letter Headed paper. By attaching a business card or a compliment slip to the top of the LOA, this usually works.
By providing as much information as you can, this will make the process quicker as we do not have to wait for information required to get the contract priced.
You can help the client and save time by filling out the parts of the LOA that you already know, such as the address (indicated on the Bill) and contact details which you may already have. The LOA can be filled out via typing it on our word document version or handwritten.
The LOA also stops the client falling into the roll-over trap (where a client rolls over into a 12 month contract on rates set by the supplier).
